“Em has been spot on from the outset.  Having been a ‘closet’ singer since childhood (not a lesson/choir/karaoke in sight) I knew that I could hold a tune and was passionate about music in my own but but I had always felt that I wouldn’t be good enough and consequently never found the courage to break through that barrier. Nearing 50, I had to concede defeat and realise that if I didn’t do something, I would live with so much regret so… my partner found Em for me! Having heard my sorry tale via e mail she had made me feel very comfortable about my situation before meeting her so I happily went along to my first lesson with little in the way of fear and trepidation.

18 months later (taking lessons most weeks) I have sung with a live pro band at my 50th birthday in front of 100 friends and family and now perform at public events, am forming my own band and I’m part of a 5 piece close harmony all girl group of singers. The aim is to be getting paid for gigs by the time my 2 year anniversary with Em Peasgood us up!

Whatever tools were available to me to begin with, this would not have been remotely possible without a teacher who has provided a non-intimidating and encouraging style. I have been taught rather than “told” – which I would not have responded to. I have been able to at my own pace with just the right amount of pressure when needed!! I am a different person and a fulfilled one”.
